Restalrig Fun

At the end of July, Nisbet Court hosted its very own fun day, which I had the great pleasure of attending.

There was a wide selection of stalls and activities put on by the local community, such as football, sumo wrestling, and food tasting. Also in attendance were the Sea Cadets, who put on an excellent performance, while Edinburgh Leisure & Libraries, and many local community groups put on their own displays.

I had a fantastic day and it really was a delight to meet so many excellent community groups. One group, the Third Age Computer Club, do fantastic work to help people to use computers – something I could do with myself!

Our community groups are working hard to make Leith a better place in which to live and work, and I’d like to thank all who helped make the day a huge success for the neighbourhood, in particular the police who put a lot of work into the whole enterprise.

I really do hope that this will become a regular event.
