Councillor Marjorie Thomas has released this statement regarding the latest announcement from Forth Ports on their biomass plant plans:
“I welcome this change of heart from Forth Energy, and I am sure this will be universally welcomed by the majority of the population of Leith as this has been one of the most unpopular proposals ever proposed.
The decision by Forth Energies to withdraw the Biomass proposal has come at the right time, and I know there will be a lot of discussion about the way ahead for the Docks and we must keep an open mind as to what happens next for the good of residents and indeed the future economy of Leith.”
